Governance development
All Boards, however well chaired, benefit from time out to reflect on their performance or reconsider strategic development. Within the public sector governance is becoming an increasingly complex arena. Boards need to balance their focus on social outcomes and the bottom line with increasingly complex relationships with other bodies and with pressures to be both publicly accountable and commercially successful – objectives that do not always coincide neatly. Our governance development work includes:
- Design and facilitation of Board and Executive team development
- Design and facilitation of inter-agency governance development initiatives e.g, multi-agency partnerships or negotiation of partnership agreements between health and local government.
- Supporting Boards in introducing ‘business thinking’ .
- Supporting Boards in improving governance effectiveness through learning from practice in other sectors. Topics of interest are typically set by the client but can range from customer service, to the development of balance performance scorecards to ways of capturing hard and soft intelligence about the future operating environment.
